Gr. 8-12. In the third volume of the author's Black Book (Diary of a Teenage Stud) series, Florida high-school junior Jonah Black surely wins the award for most unlucky-in-love male teen. In this journal, he once again inadvertently sabotages multiple opportunities to consummate or even begin relationships, and his mishaps are as engaging as ever. It's worth noting that the objects of Jonah's affection run the gamut-- from wholesome surfer girl Posie to brilliant, edgy Molly--yet all are realistic characters with exasperating and wholly believable flaws. While some details of Jonah's personal life are made clear, readers will be intrigued by what's left open, and they will be waiting for the next volume, to be entitled Faster, Faster, Faster. The light tone of the narrative masks some real depth, which the thoughtful reader will savor. Expect a run on this title from teens who enjoyed the previous books. Debbie Carton

Jonah Black, of course, grew up in Pompano Beach, Florida. He attended boarding school in Pennsylvania until recently when, under shrouded circumstances, he left and has since been picking up the pieces of his shattered life. And checking out all the Florida chicks.

Hmm

Ths series is a battle for me. I hate myself for wasting the hour it takes to read each " diary," but I find it so hard to stop. There are so many cliff hangers, it practicly forces you to buy the next book. On volume 4, I revolted, and refused to buy the new book...for a whole day.I found myself twitching, wondering
" Will Jonah and Molly get it on?"
" Will Jonah ever figure out who Northgirl is?"
" Will Jonah answer Sophie's call for help?"
and other world altering questions. See book four for answers!
All in all, I didn't really like this book, but if you've read book 1 and 2, you don't really have a choice...now do you.

This book (I only read the third one) was okay, I thought it was great at the time but as some others said, There's no real 'end'. I'm not saying that it's bad their are some sequels, it's just that when you finish a book you want to have something to kind of think about. It was certainly entertaining, I finished it in a day although it's quiet short anyway. I did think that the authore got me to really appreciate Jonah's effort of dicensy. Nothing spectacular but it was fine for me.

love all these books, such a fun read. Highly recommended. Mainly for female teens, but was able to keep me amused on a vacation.
